Biography

saxophone player, composer & visual artist

Camila Nebbia began her musical studies at the age of 9 years. Later, she deepened her saxophone studies, completing a technique of classical instrumentalist at the Conservatory of the City Government "Astor Piazzolla" and a career as a Superior Technician in Jazz at the "Manuel de Falla" Conservatory. At the same time she obtained a degree of Film Director at the Universidad Del Cine and studied professional music at the Escuela de Música Contemporánea. She studied two months in Cuba with the saxophonist and clarinetist Ernesto Camilo Vega.

Camila has made ensembles with Tony Malaby (USA), George Garzone (USA), Devin Hoff (USA), Ernesto Jodos, Juan Pablo Arredondo, Juan Cruz de Urquiza, Eloy Michelini, Carlos Lastra, among others. Assisted to a 2-day intensive seminar on jazz with renowned saxophonist Dave Liebman (USA). She took private lessons with George Garzone, Tony Malaby, Ben Wendel, Chris Cheek, Ellery Eskelin, Tim Berne, Ricardo Cavalli and Luis Nacht.

In 2015 she received a grant from the National Arts Fund of Argentina to attend a one week seminar on improvisation and composition in Bariloche, Rio Negro, Argentina, and was selected for level two of this same one to be held at the Kirchner Cultural Center in the same year.

In 2016, she was selected among students of the Manuel de Falla Conservatory to participate in three workshops of one week each, given by Ben Goldberg, Tim Berne and Marilyn Crispell (USA).

In 2017 she traveled to New York to do an improvisation seminar directed by Ralph Alessi called "SIM" and to take private classes with several musicians there.

She participated in the group of singer Tower of Power during his visit to Argentina with the T.O.P Queens in 2014, a show that took place in La Trastienda, buenos aires, Argentina.

Integrates the groups Mingunos (Tribute to Charles Mingus),Camila Nebbia sextet, Juan Izquierdo Group, La Big Nant (big band directed by Richard Nant), Julian Mekler sextet, among others.

She recorded "Cumulus Mingus" Mingunos, Plevida, with whom he recorded a self-titled album produced by LItto Nebbia, edited by Melopea discos, Madda Kali vol. 1, Los Pulpos, El devenir del rio, The Pibitos, Juan Izquierdo Group, El Devenir del rio, Mora Garcia Medici group and Camila Nebbia Sextet that recently released her first album "A veces la luz de lo que existe resplandece solamente a la distancia".

Festivals

She participated in the International Jazz Festival of Buenos Aires with the Big Band of the Superior Conservatory of Manuel de Falla in 2014 with Ed Neumeister (USA) as a guest, and in 2015 with Jim Rotondi (USA) as guest and in 2016 with Andrew D 'Angelo (USA) as guest. Cinema / performing arts

 In 2006 her digital short film "No tires mi angustia por el balcón" was a finalist in the "64 film festival" in Buenos Aires.

In 2015 he presented his multidisciplinary work "Si una fuente se siente bien echando agua".
